The Beginning
It all began in the summer of 2019 when Madison’s cousin Amanda invited her to swim with friends. This group of friends quickly became inseparable, spending nearly every weekend together, which gave Madison and Kyle ample time to get to know each other. For weeks they exchanged playful glances and subtle smirks, until Madison finally made the first move. Soon Madison and Kyle were hanging out just the two of them, doing homework or watching movies together and quickly becoming best friends. Around the time of New Years Eve, they decided to become exclusive.
Then March 2020 came. Madison finished her master’s degree in social work, Kyle finished his bachelor's in cyber security/network engineering, and both graduated virtually at home. Madison and Kyle quarantined together and grew closer and closer as they played games, binge watched TV shows, and drank plenty of Pinot Noir.
Kyle bought his first house and rental property the summer of 2021, and he and Madison moved into their first apartment together. The following year was filled with apartment renovations, weeks spent caring for Maxwell (the DaCosta family's dog) and exploring the other side of Rhode Island. Through it all, they were continually amazed at how effortless everything seemed to be, a feeling that was almost too good to be true.
When Kyle received the news of his deployment, he knew exactly what he wanted to do. He had known from very early on that Madison was the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with and already felt a strong sense of responsibility to protect and care for her. The conversation was not an easy one, but the decision to get married was not hard to come to at all.
The Proposal
Kyle recruited some of Madison's friends to help plan the engagement. He planned a weekend in the North End of Boston and proposed to Madison on February 18th, 2023 inside of the Tunnel of Love. Madison was thrilled and overcome with emotion, and of course completely oblivious to her two best friends dressed in wigs and sitting on the bench inside the tunnel. Kyle then brought Madison to a private dinner before surprising her at the next location with an engagement party with their closest friends. Reflecting on that unforgettable day, Madison is still so moved by the amount of love that was present.
The Ceremony
Madison and Kyle asked their dear friend Michael "Renzi" Mariorenzi to officiate their civil ceremony. On March 18th, 2023, Renzi joined Kyle and Madison together as one in the presence of their grandparents, parents, and siblings. There was a good chance of rain in Newport that afternoon, but the newlyweds felt their late grandparents' presence as the sun came through and the clouds rolled away. Following the ceremony was hours of celebrating with their families in downtown Bristol.
Then to Now
Madison and Kyle were lucky enough to Facetime most days of his deployment and their relationship only grew stronger throughout that challenging 11-month period. Kyle was able to take two weeks leave from his deployment to honeymoon with Madison in Croatia and Greece. He saved the last chunk of his leave for 4-day trip to celebrate New Years Eve in Amsterdam with Madison, Renzi, and a close friend. Kyle returned March of 2024 and the couple embraced their time together, savoring every moment before gradually easing back into the rhythm of their busy social life and the eventual wedding planning.
Madison and Kyle are thrilled to see their dream wedding come to life, surrounded by ALL of their loved ones. They can't wait to celebrate their love with you!
